Wildcat and Lady Cat Basketball Begin Scrimmage Play Saturday
The Lady Cats’ basketball team, minus several players still playing volleyball, will have their opening scrimmage of the season Saturday at 10 a.m. in Wildcats Gym against Kaufman. Lady Cats’ Coach Jeff Chapman said the team is picking up on things that have been done in previous seasons. Practices have been altered by a free-throw competition at the end of practice. He would like additional levels for teams but, with numbers up this year, he plans to work as many into game situations as possible.
The Wildcats’ basketball team minus football players and some injured players will open the season Saturday with a scrimmage at Emory Rains. The Wildcats will take on Quinlan Ford at 10 a.m. and Martin’s Mill at 11 a.m. Among returners for second year Head Coach Clark Cipoletta are Garrett Jones, Ke’Ontae Dunn and Iverson Wade, who Coach Cipoletta says has improved a great deal since last year.
