Texas Department of Transportation officials announced Tuesday that construction to improve a portion of State Highway 11 in Hopkins County will begin Jan. 2, 2017. Contractor AK Gillis Inc., Sulphur Springs, Texas, was awarded the contract for this project valued at more than $5.5 million. Driver Arrested for DWI in Accident on SH 11E
A two vehicle accident on State Highway 11E led to the DWI arrest of one of the drivers. Hopkins County Deputies informed the DPS Trooper investigating the accident that the driver of one of the vehicles seemed to be intoxicated. Three Bundles of Cocaine Found in Texarkana Man’s Auto
Jerrod Ross McElhaney, 31, of Texarkana, was arrested on I-30 just before 1 a.m. Friday after three bundles of cocaine more than or equal to 400-grams were found in the car he was driving.
