Winnsboro Police arrested one, investigated one accident, responded to 168 calls, issued 43 citations, and wrote 67 warnings during the June 18-24, 2018 report period. Leet Gatlin, 47, of Winnsboro was arrested June 21st on a Franklin County Warrant. A two vehicle accident on June 21st in the 400 block of West Myrtle resulted in no injuries reported.

When Sulphur Springs Police stopped a 2000 Chevy Silverado on a traffic violation, Tammy Lashawn Powdrill, 52, of Sulphur Springs appeared extremely nervous, according to the officer’s report. Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputies and Sulphur Springs Police Officers will escort the body of 19-year old Marine, Jordan Smith through Hopkins County as he is taken to his home town of Broken Bow, Oklahoma for burial, according to Sheriff Lewis Tatum.
