In order to renovate old Sulphur Springs City Hall, the city business office, water department and tax collection office will be relocated to a temporary building that will be located just west of old City Hall. City Council Wrap Up 10/07/14
At Tuesday night’s meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council, the council approved an ordinance on first reading for issuance and sale of $5-million of certificates of obligation for more street work, equipment and renovation work for old City Hall. The council also passed several ordinances on second and final reading to help Saputo Dairy Foods receive financial incentives from the state for a plant expansion.

Bright Star Baseball League for Children Meets with City Council
At a regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council Tuesday at 7 p.m. in City Hall, Veronica Yost with the Bright Star Baseball League for children with special needs will make a presentation about a proposed Bright Star League Baseball Field. The council is also expected to consider an ordinance for issuance and sale of certificates of obligation for a variety of projects.
Possible Location Change For County Genealogical Society
Behind the scenes, the city of Sulphur Springs has been working to strike a deal where the Hopkins County Genealogical Society would move out of their prime Main Street building into the meeting room at the city Public Library.
