Hopkins County United Way is at almost 30 percent of the $150,000 goal to benefit 19 local agencies, halfway through the campaign. While unemployment rates across the state and Northeast Texas increased 1.3 percent in September, the unemployment rate in the Texarkana/Northeast Texas area as a whole only increased 0.6 percent.
