Lady Cats Soccer Lose Third Straight, Falling in Longview 5-0

Women’s soccer fell by a score of 5-0 for the second straight game on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

The district-leading Lady Lobos (7-0) shout out Sulphur Springs in Longview.

Just like Friday’s loss to Hallsville, the Lady Cats gave up two goals in the first period.

Also like Friday’s home loss, Longview put three in the net in the second to win 5-0 over women’s soccer.

The loss is the third straight and sixth in seven games since district play began.

Over that seven game stretch women’s soccer have been outscored 21-13.

Excluding the Lady Cats 11-0 rout of Marshall, Sulphur Springs has given up 21 goals and scored just two since Friday, Jan. 28.

Coach Aguayo and his squad have another tough test ahead of them Friday when they travel to Mount Pleasant (4-3).

If Sulphur Springs cannot tie or beat Mount Pleasant and Texas High, the Lady Cats’ opponent on Tuesday, Mar. 1, Coach Aguayo’s squad are all but eliminated from postseason contention.

Friday’s showdown kicks off on Friday, Feb. 25 in Mount Pleasant at 7:15 P.M.
