Lady Cats Face Greenville Friday
Lady Cats Basketball Coach Jeff Chapman chose to stress the positive after his team’s 46-39 district win at home over Mt. Pleasant Tuesday night. The win evened the Lady Cats district record at 2-2 and improved their season mark to 11-8. Coach Chapman liked the combination of a team getting better and also winning. The Lady Cats will seek another big district road win Friday as they travel to Greenville to face the Lady Lions.
Lady Cats Slip to 1-2 in District Play
Lady Cats Basketball Coach Jeff Chapman said last Friday’s district game at Texas High wasn’t too pretty for the Lady Cats. After a close first quarter, the Lady Tigers pulled away for a 67-50 win. Coach Chapman felt his young team was a little intimidated in a tough environment. He said team members are working hard to get better. Coach Chapman said their goal is to play better at home Tuesday night against Mt. Pleasant.
Lady Cats Lose to Texas High
The Lady Cats’ basketball team had a hard time keeping up with Texas High on the road Friday as the Lady Tigers took a 67-50 win. Texas High built a 9-point lead at the half and led 51-28 after three quarters. Daieyshia Pruitt scored 17 points for the Lady Cats and Kaylee Jefferson added 11 points and 9 rebounds. The Lady Cats are 1-2 in district play and 9-8 for the season. The Lady Cats host Mt. Pleasant Tuesday night.
Lady Cats Split in Tournament Play
The Lady Cats’ basketball team split four games in a Kaufman tournament this week. Monday the Lady Cats lost to Mabank and Ennis. Tuesday produced two Lady Cats’ wins as they topped North Mesquite and Kaufman. The Lady Cats are now 10-7. They are 1-1 in district play and play at Texas High Friday at 2:15 p.m.
“Updated” Lady Cats Tank in 4th Quarter After Leading the Whole game
It was a disappointing loss for the Lady Cats’ basketball team in their first game in a Kaufman holiday tournament Monday. The Lady Cats had a 3-point lead after three quarters but they were outscored 14-0 in the fourth quarter as Mabank took a 45-34 win. The loss dropped the Lady Cats to 8-6 for the season. Desi Debase, the leading scorer for the Lady Cats Basketball Team, tweaked her knee against John Tyler Tuesday night. She missed more than half the game in the 56-34 loss.
