A rough third quarter derailed the Lady Cats’ basketball team’s attempt at a big upset of highly rated Longview Tuesday night in Wildcats Gym. The Lady Lobos outscored the Lady Cats 24-3 in the third quarter on their way to a 62-45 win in the district opener for both teams. The Lady Cats outscored Longview 18-7 in the first quarter and took a 30-26 lead into halftime. Both teams scored 12 points in the fourth quarter. Tori Moore led the Lady Cats with 12 points and Chrissalynd Person added 10. The Lady Cats are having to play without leading scorer Desi Debase who has an ACL knee injury. The Lady Cats are 0-1 in district play and 7-5 overall. They’ll play at Marshall Friday night.
