United Way over the Goal
Hopkins County United Way President and Drive Chair Chris Voorheese distributed excess allocation checks worth more than $41,000 to seventeen agencies United Way supports Thursday. The campaign in fall 2013 ended up way over goal. Voorheese said more people would now be helped.
United Way Wrap Up
The Hopkins County United Way Drive exceeded its $160,000 goal by almost $28,000 after funds were reported at the 8th and final report meeting Thursday morning. Drive Chair Chris Voorheese expects some more funds to come in in days ahead. The drive total stands at $187,907. Voorheese, in his second year as Drive Chair, referred to this year’s drive as great and a blessed campaign.
“Updated” United Way Exceeds Goal
The Hopkins County United Way far exceeded their campaign goal of $160,000 at a seventh report meeting Tuesday morning. Funds added in Tuesday amounted to over $30,100 to bring the grand total to $184,303.42. Drive Chair Chris Voorheese said that’s 15.5% over the goal. Last year’s drive ended with $196,000. United Way Closes in on Their Goal
If the Hopkins County United Way has a report meeting Wednesday like they did last week, they will not only meet their goal of $160,000 but they will exceed it. Last week’s meeting saw a little more than $48,300 come in to put the total a little more than $122,000 currently. They need just less than $38,000 Wednesday to reach their goal. This Friday is a give back day for United Way at Panda Express.

“Updated” United Way Drive Hits 46% of Goal
Tuesday morning’s Hopkins County United Way Report Meeting was the best so far this year as $33,710 came in to bring the current drive total to $73,651 or about 46% of the goal of $160,000. Big amounts were reported Tuesday from Alliance Bank, City National Bank and Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. The Tuesday meeting featured pompoms and cheers.

After a third report meeting Tuesday, the Hopkins County United Way has collected $38,588.92. That’s 24.1% of the goal of $160,000. A total of $13,774.92 came in Tuesday alone.
