Crime Spree Couple Arrested

A Sulphur Springs man and a woman from Deport, Texas were arrested by the Commerce Police Department working on a tip from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office. The pair were reportedly driving a stolen truck pulling a stolen trailer and Commerce Police also filed drug charges. The man and woman are believed to be involved in crimes in multiple counties with stolen items believed to amount to more that $300,000. We get more details...

Patrick McMahan Arraigned in Maynard Murder

Two men accused in the murder of 66-year old Gary Maynard at his home were indicted by a Hopkins County Grand Jury on December 8. Both 31-year old Patrick Wayne McMahan of Sulphur Springs and 26-year old Cody Scott Shaw of Emory were indicted for capital murder. JP Yvonne King set bond at $2-million for each of two suspects arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the Saturday night slaying of 66-year old Gary Maynard.
