Marking the end of a two-year process, the County Line School Historical Marker Dedication Ceremony was held on April 12, 2015 on the site of the old school. The 65 persons present included some former County Line teachers and students. County Line School was established in 1897 as Rains County’s third district. Later, the original structure burned, and a two-story wooden schoolhouse was built on the property. It was built to serve as a school and as a place to hold community events. The Mothers Against Drunk Driving Association received a donation of $1,500 from Alliance Bank today April 9, 2015. The donation will be used for MADD’s annual walk coming up in the fall. The walk is part of a fundraiser, of which Alliance Bank is a sponsor. The MADD walk will be September 26, 2015. The event will start with entertainment at 5:30 p.m. and the walk will begin at 7:00 p.m. The theme for walk is “Glow Walk”, where participants will wear glow sticks, hoops, strings, lights and other such items.
