Great Fun at Pilot’s Spring Brunch!

The Pilot Club of Sulphur Springs hosted about 200 ladies at their annual Spring Brunch on Saturday March 28 in the League Street Church of Christ Friendship Room. There was a delightful spread of foods prepared by Pilot Club members, two generously-sized auction  fundraisers, numerous door prizes, and a lot of laughter! The annual event is a time for ladies of all ages to gather, meet new friends and enjoy an inspirational, motivational program while assisting the Pilot Club to fund the many projects they do through the year.                ...

Northeast Texas Farmers Co-op Spring Expo and members meeting will be an all-day event concluding with a hamburger supper Thursday night March 24 at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center in Sulphur Springs. During the day in Sulphur Springs, vendors will be present at the Co-op to speak with customers regarding various products available for the farm and ranch. CANHelp “Play it Forward” Tennis Tournament

CANHelp Executive Director Shanna Martin and CANHelp Board Member Trice Lawrence are spreading the word about the tennis tournament that funds CANHelp with benevolence funds for community projects. The second-annual “Play it Forward” Tennis Tournament and Family Fun Day is doubles play, set for Saturday April 16 at the SSHS Tennis Complex with check-in starting at 8:30am. If they are playing Mozart’s Quintet in G minor K. 516, it could be a musical look at your own mortality, and glimpse of salvation, according to members of the Orchard Ensemble. Paint the Town Run Saturday Funds Summer Work Camp

Sulphur Springs Work Camp has been around since 2007 and organizers are excited to celebrate their 10th camp this summer.  Each year kids from area youth groups gather together the first week in June to paint homes for the elderly, disabled, widowed, single moms and those in financial need at no cost to the homeowner.  Since its founding SSWC has completed 162 projects. The goal for 2016 is to paint and restore at least 22 homes. Each year the cost of camp is approximately $30,000. Organizers say it takes a lot of support from the community...
