Chief Deputy Ricky Morgan Retiring

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ricky Morgan is retiring at the same time as Sheriff Butch Adams, a man that he worked alongside for the past 20 years. Chief Deputy Morgan also was a Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy for 10 years. He said his favorite thing about the job was the friends he had made that he now considers family. His plans are to continue flying his airplane and doing flight instruction. Chief Deputy Morgan also wants to do more fishing and to spend more time with his wife.

Numerous members of the community will be receiving the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards in 34 different categories at an awards celebration on January 16. The awards celebration will take place at Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at 208 Fuller in Sulphur Springs. The Wannabees!

KSST stopped by the League Street Church Of Christ and met with the Wannabees this morning. The Wannabees are a group of ladies that come twice a month from and work on their individual projects. They are there the first Thursday and the third Tuesday of each month. The ladies of the Wannabees explained to KSST that they work on their own personal projects, they might get a big project from the Quilt Guild and work on it all together but its not often. Hopkins County Beekeepers Meet to Share and Learn

The Hopkins County Beekeepers met in winter temperatures to discus more spring and summer like activity. A pre-meeting Q&A session ranged from mites to chemical to beetles.
