Symphony League Marks 25th Anniversary of Independence Day Celebration; Street Closures Announced

Marking their 25th year celebrating Independence Day, the Sulphur Springs Symphony League will host the Annual Independence Day Celebration Concert and Fireworks display on Saturday, July 2 at 7:45 p.m. on Celebration Square. Guests will be able to show up at anytime as prior events will be taking place throughout the day. Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the lobby of Alliance Bank, representatives of the Sulphur Springs Symphony League accepted a $10,000 donation from Alliance Bank that will assist in funding the annual Independence Day Concert set for July 2 on Celebration Plaza. Sadie Evans was named Hopkins County Dairy Festival Queen Saturday night following competition in the Sulphur Springs Schools Fine Arts Auditorium. Volunteer of  the Year and Station of the Year were named at the RSVP 12th Annual Hopkins County Recognition Banquet Thursday afternoon, June 16th  at New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Sulphur Springs. Roughly 80 to 100 people attended, and the Banquet was catered by Murray’s BBQ. Tim Walsworth was master of Ceremonies. The Dairy Classic Sale, sponsored by the Northeast Texas Livestock Association, will be held Thursday, June 16 at the 1:o p.m. at the Sulphur Springs Livestock and Dairy Auction.
