Contestant #1 Allie Avery is the daughter of Anthony and Tenny Tanton and the late Stan Avery. In the talent competition, she will play a piano instrumental to “A Tale as Old as Time” from Beauty and the Beast. For evening gown competition, she will be wearing a royal blue and white gown with a train. Allie has studied piano since childhood and been involved in her church youth praise team. Shadow Ranch Dressage Clinic is Fun Fundraiser

Shadow Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center in Hopkins County is planning a Clinic and Competition Fundraiser on July 22 and 23, presented by the Northeast Texas Dressage Club. Clinics offered by dressage instructors will include Western Dressage, Driving and in-Hand Classes plus Dressage Suitability and Lead-Line. Steve Lombardi, Houston pilot for the ReMax balloon, talked to KSST about how he got started as a hot air-balloon pilot. He originally flew private airplanes, for 29 years. “The crew and friendships make flying worth it.” There is a Remax office in Sulphur Springs and Lombardi was asked to be the balloon sponsor.  The farthest he’s ever flown was 60 miles, and he enjoys competitive balloon events. Patsy Crist, a 30-year resident of the Cumby area of Hopkins County, is the newly crowned Ms. Sr. Hopkins County. Her talent presentation was an “I Love Lucy Vitameatavegamin” skit. She was crowned by 2016 Ms. Sr. Lavonne Elam.   Isaiah Flores drove over 270 miles to visit the Dairy Festival. KSST caught up with Flores at the ice cream festival. “I can’t wait to come back next year!
