The Sulphur Springs School Board accepted the retirement of Director of Transportation Larry Finney Monday night. His last day is July 31. In almost 30 years with the district, Finney also served as a bus driver, a principal and a teacher. After dominating every game they played to get to the State Dixie final game in Coleman Park in Sulphur Springs, the 10 and under Hopkins County Angels rode the hot pitching of Makayla Buchanan to defeat Lindale 2-0 and advance to the World Series.
