Shooting In Saltillo Area
A man was shot and the shooter was beaten with a pipe wielded by a friend of the shooting victim after a confrontation at a residence on County Road 3366 in Saltillo Sunday afternoon (June 29th). The shooting victim was taken to a Tyler hospital. The man who was assaulted was taken to Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. No names have been released and no arrests have been made. Beating And Carjacking Suspect Arrested
A Hopkins County man wanted for beating his grandfather and taking his car early Monday morning was arrested around noon Monday (June 30th) and now is in the Hopkins County Jail. Start Date Set For Construction Of New Hopkins County Jail
Hopkins County Sheriff Butch Adams said Thursday that the latest start date for construction of the new County Jail is expected to be August 11. A key person for Sedalco of Fort Worth, the construction manager-at-risk, is expected to be off of another project and to be available for the new County Jail project here by that date. Two Locals Arrested, More Arrests to Come
Two Hopkins County men have been charged with possessing child pornography. Another arrest or two are possible pending a forensic download of a computer in Tyler. The cases are not believed to be connected.
