Veterans’ Memorial Suffers Minor Damage
Some more minor damage has been done to several walls in the Veterans’ Memorial on Celebration Plaza in Sulphur Springs. The damage was discovered and was reported to the police department by a city official on Thursday just before 1 p.m. Several stones had letters and scratches lightly etched on them. Garland Man Arrested
A 26-year old man from Garland was arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle by a Sulphur Springs police officer Friday at 4:40 p.m. The incident occurred at a car dealership at 1500 West Industrial. S.S.P.D. Names New Patrol Captain and Interdiction Officer
When Sulphur Springs Police Chief Jim Bayuk moves to the Sulphur Springs ISD Police Department on August 1, it will have a domino effect. Patrol Captain Jay Sanders, appointed by the City Council, will become chief. Interdiction Officer Lt. Jason Ricketson will take over as Patrol Captain. A Sulphur Springs Police Officer arrested a local man Tuesday who was named in two out of town warrants. Officer Seth McDaniel arrested 53-year old Ronnie Louis Somerville of Sulphur Springs just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
