After practicing veterinary medicine for more than forty years, Hopkins County vet J.D. Norris has finally seen his first case of rabies in a horse. The owner brought the horse in about three weeks ago thinking it had colic problems. Norris saw neurogical problems and knew it was worse than colic. The 200 block of Main Street in Sulphur Springs has been reopened. All of the façade of the old Knights’ Head Inn at 219 Main has been removed after it developed cracks and bulges last week. An 86-year old woman from Dike was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Hopkins County Saturday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Lorene Foley.
