“Updated” Capital Murder Cases to Cost County Hundreds of Thousands
Hopkins County will have to pick up the costs of attorneys for one of two men indicted for capital murder in what are expected to be a death penalty cases. County Judge Robert Newsom said an insurance policy would pay for attorneys for Cody Scott Shaw of Emory. The policy will not cover co-defendant Patrick Wayne McMahan of Sulphur Springs. Hopkins County Commissioners Court Voted to Sponsor an Application for Cornersville Water Supply Corporation
The Hopkins County Commissioners Court voted to sponsor an application for Cornersville Water Supply Corporation for a state grant that if approved will upgrade their water system and provide service to 15 homes located in a lower income housing area. The homes are located at the railroad crossing at Highway 11 East just west of Winnsboro. Presenting the proposal was Kyle Stephens of Hayes Engineering of Longview.
