Islamic-Focused EPIC City Rebrands as “The Meadow”
November 14, 2025 – A planned Islamic-focused residential development formerly known as EPIC City has officially rebranded as The Meadow, its organizers announced this week. The project, which aims to create a faith-centered, master-planned community, is proposed for unincorporated areas of Collin and Hunt counties, roughly northeast of the Dallas metro area.
Developers say the new name is intended to reflect a broader, more welcoming identity while preserving the project’s original mission: creating a walkable, family-oriented community with shared religious, cultural, and educational amenities for Muslim families. Plans have included homes, green space, schools, retail, and a large community center associated with the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC).
The rebranding comes after months of public scrutiny and confusion surrounding the original name, which some residents misinterpreted as signaling a standalone city or autonomous jurisdiction. Project organizers emphasize that The Meadow is not a municipality, has no governmental authority, and will remain subject to county regulations.
Local residents have voiced mixed reactions. Supporters say the project will bring investment and orderly development to rural areas experiencing growth pressure. Critics have raised concerns about traffic, drainage, and rapid population increases. County officials note that, because the land lies outside city limits, zoning oversight is limited.
Developers say updated plans and more community meetings will be released in the coming months.
