Lady Cats Softball Gets Come-From-Behind Win Over Texas High, 5-4

Sulphur Springs came back from down 4-0 to win over Texas High 5-4 on Thursday, Mar. 17.

After three full innings, it looked as though Lady Cats softball were on their way to their first defeat in district play.

However, coach David Carrillo’s squad were able to score three runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull back within one of the Lady Tigers, 4-3.

Three scoreless innings later, in softball’s final at-bat, Sulphur Springs walked off the game with two runs scored, handing Texas High a 5-4 crushing defeat on Thursday, Mar. 17.

For only the first time in four district games Crimson Bryant left the game without a win. The junior left the game after three innings, giving up the Lady Tiger’s 4 runs while walking one batter and striking out 5.

Addison Caddell got the win after pitching four shutout innings in relief, allowing just two hits but walking four. The senior struck out three in the winning effort.

Kinz Smallwood and Parris Pickett both got three hits, with the latter getting four in the win.

Thursday’s win over Texas High gives the Lady Cats a 13-1-2 record (4-0 district).

Sulphur Springs remains the lone undefeated team in District 15-5A.
