Funeral services for Nancy Jo Ferguson, 89, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Peter McNabb officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Gafford Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Ed Lantz officiating prior to visitation and service. Pallbearers will be Landon Llewellyn, Clayton Llewellyn, Lucas Llewellyn, Cody Llewellyn, Mason Rawson, Caleb Denton and Preston Brashear.
Nancy passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 1, 2024 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born September 12, 1934 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Faye Williams (Chapin) Hargrave and Wilson Chapin. After raising her family, she worked for Southern Methodist University as a secretary. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, reading and contributing her time to various organizations such as the Waverly Club, singing in her church choir and other church related activities. She had a special place in her heart for the “Sweet Hour of Prayer” group at First United Methodist Church and was an avid prayer warrior.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Jo Lou Gibson (Don), Linda Llewellyn (Clay), Tom Brashear (Ann) and Mary Ann Rawson (Michael). Grandchildren Landon, Clayton (Kelly), Lucas (Kimberly), and Cody (Peyton) Llewellyn; Preston Brashear, Catherine Brashear Sartain (Seth); Mason Rawson, Mallory Rawson Denton (Caleb). Great-grandchildren Maddox, Liam, Charli, Myka, and Harper Llewellyn; Claire and Bryn Sartain, Addi, Aiden, Asher and Lillian Denton and aunt, Helen Williams Gumm (Baby Ruth).
