A 26-year-old Winnsboro woman was jailed Friday afternoon for forgery against the elderly, according to arrest reports.
Brittanie Marie Buffington was at Sulphur Springs Police Department to talk to Detective David Gilmore, when she was advised of the warrant placed into custody at 1:41 p.m. Jan. 17, according to arrest reports. She was alleged to have passed a check forged on the account of a woman who was older than 65 years on Nov. 21, 2019, according to reports.
Buffington remained in Hopkins County jail Monday, Jan. 20. Bond on the forgery against elderly charge was set at $10,000, according to jail reports.
