Wildcats and Lady Cats Continue Play in Terrell Tournaments on Friday

The Wildcats Soccer Team will continue group play in the Terrell Tiger Winter Classic tournament against Hallsville Friday (January 17) at 2 p.m. When the two teams were in the same district, their games always meant something and usually it was who was in and who was out for the playoffs. Thursday the Wildcats opened play in the tournament with a 1-1 tie with Kilgore in weather described by Wildcats Coach Alexi Upton as nasty with rainy, wet and windy conditions. Wildcat Angel Andino scored the Wildcats goal against Kilgore assisted by Kevin Yanez. The Wildcats season record is now 2-4-3. The Wildcats will also play Seagoville Saturday at 12:30 p.m. If the Wildcats win their group, they will play for the tournament championship Saturday evening at 6:45 p.m.

In the Terrell Tiger Winter Blast tournament Friday, the Lady Cats Soccer Team plays Seagoville at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Cats Soccer Team was involved in a pair of 1-0 games on Thursday on the first day of the tournament.

In the opener, the Lady Cats defeated Athens, 1-0. Lady Cat Rebekah Stanley scored the unassisted goal against Athens. In the tournament’s late game Thursday, the Lady Cats lost a 1-0 match to host Terrell. Despite long stretches of controlling the ball, the Lady Cats could not get a goal. The Lady Cats season record is now 1-4-1.
