Funeral services for Betty Moon, age 81, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove North Cemetery with Randy Palmer, Justin Moon, Chris Moon, Cody Moon, Eddie
Moon, and Bryan Dodd serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Betty passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Rock Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 31, 1938 in Ladonia, Texas the daughter of Delbert Lewis Duncan and Sarah Velma Holloway Duncan. She married Dudley Moon on December 28, 1959 in the First Baptist Church of Ladonia, and he survives. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs for 44 years and she worked for Hopkins County for 36 years. In addition to her husband Dudley, she is survived by sons, Gary Moon and fiance Vicki, Jimmy Moon and wife Jenny, daughter, Teresa Palmer and husband Max all of Sulphur Springs, and brother, James Paul Morris of Winnsboro, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Donald Duncan, and Charles “Scooter” Duncan, sisters, Gayle Gearner, and Carolyn Duncan.
