Wood County Sheriff’s Report For Aug. 14-20, 2019

August 14

  • Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village Dr. near Quitman, at approximately 9:33 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 9:39 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 4560 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 4620 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:17 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several firearms from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:36 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2130 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:37 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass on Choctaw near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies conducted an arrest/warrant service at the Sheriff’s Office; at approximately 2:05 p.m. James Bussell, 27, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • At 5:48 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2225 near Quitman.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:00 p.m., in reference to a dispute on PR 8000 near Winnsboro. Deputies determined this was a civil matter and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Main St. in Yantis, at approximately 8:50 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

August 15

  • Deputies were dispatched to Little River Bend near Quitman, at approximately 7:36 a.m., in reference to drugs/narcotics. David Dial, 70, of Quitman, was arrested for Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance. Barbara Dial, 67, of Quitman, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Christopher Dalton, 46, of Quitman, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Lisa Boon, 51, of Quitman, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 7533 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:12 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Broken Bow Lane near Quitman, at approximately 8:46 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3847 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:37 p.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor stole an air compressor from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3480 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:18 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:44 p.m., in reference to harassment on CR 1977 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 4:16 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief on FM 182 near Alba. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3840 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:35 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:15 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village Dr. near Quitman, at approximately 10:04 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

August 16

  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1835 near Yantis, at approximately 7:43 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 59, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:39 a.m., in reference to harassment on CR 3250 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:54 p.m., in reference to a scam on FM 14 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:27 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 1858 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 514 near Yantis, at approximately 2:30 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 4:46 p.m., in reference to harassment on Choctaw near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • At 6:24 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 2142 near Quitman.
  • At 6:47 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 69 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 7:25 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3859 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:46 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with the actors and cleared the incident.

August 17

  • At 8:43 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 182 near Alba.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 37 near Quitman; at approximately 8:44 a.m. The individual left the scene, prior to the deputies’ arrival.
  • Deputies were dispatched to PR 5675 near Alba, at approximately 11:31 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the day.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Loop 564 near Mineola; at approximately 2:15 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1516 near Alba, at approximately 2:40 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 4530 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:10 p.m., in reference to a possible assault. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and a Criminal Trespass Warning was issued.
  • At 11:15 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2225 near Yantis.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:43 p.m., in reference to theft on CR 1792 near Yantis. Deputies determined this was a civil matter and cleared the incident.

August 18

  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 3:33 a.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 1792 near Yantis, at approximately 8:18 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 8:52 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3811 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:09 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:53 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
  • At 7:34 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 2128 near Quitman.
  • At 9:43 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3984 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:44 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and cleared the incident.

August 19

  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:53 a.m., in reference to harassment on CR 2175 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:12 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Loop 564 near Mineola, at approximately 11:42 a.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • At 6:03 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1370 near Yantis.
  • Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 6:19 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 8:01 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 69 near Como.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 3203 near Quitman, at approximately 10:44 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s storage unit. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At 11:39 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 1647 near Winnsboro.

August 20

  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Yantis, at approximately 1:22 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Willow Branch near Hawkins, at approximately 7:57 a.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole water from a utility company. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Village Circle near Yantis, at approximately 6:45 p.m., in reference to harassment. Deputies spoke with all parties and determined there was no offense. Kimberly Woodle, 51, of Yantis, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies were dispatched to CR 2782 near Mineola, at approximately 8:17 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Dakota Boone, 19, of Quitman, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1681 near Alba; at approximately 8:32 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:18 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat on FM 17 near Alba. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

  • Between the dates of August 14 and August 20, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Emergency Medical Services, Quitman Police Department, Adult Probation and Mineola Police Department.
  • Between the dates of August 14 and August 20, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 3 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals and filed 3 cases with the District Attorney.
