Man Arrested After Claiming To Be His Brother

A 31-year-old Quinlan man learned the hard way Thursday morning that it’s not a good idea to represent yourself to authorities as someone else.

He was allegedly arrested at 7:44 a.m. on FM 2297 at FM 1567 for failure to identify by giving false or fictitious information, after identifying himself by a different first name than the name he was arrested under. After a records check, the deputies surmised the man had lied, according to arrest reports. The Quinlan man then allegedly admitted to using his brother’s information because his license was invalid.

He remained in the county jail at noon Friday. His bond was set at $1,000 on the misdemeanor charge, according to jail reports.
