Hunt County Man Arrested for Firing Weapon at Home in Hopkins County

A Hunt County man, Jalen Ryan Crockett, 23, is in Hopkins County Jail charged with Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm.

Crockett was arrested in Hunt County on a Hopkins County warrant following an investigation into a drive by shooting that occurred as an act of retaliation based on a domestic disagreement. Crockett fired a weapon striking a house in which there were occupants. Hopkins County Criminal Investigator Corley Weatherford told KSST News that the local investigation had led law enforcement to Crockett and that, following his arrest, during an interview Crockett confessed to firing the weapon toward the house.

Due to the nature of the crime, a bond of $100,000 has been assessed by Justice of the Peace Brad Cummings.
