Rain: Wildcats Postponed; Lady Cats Start Over; North Hopkins/Sulphur Bluff Resumes Monday

Wildcats Baseball Rained Out at Pine Tree

The Wildcats’ baseball team led 7-4 in the bottom of the fourth inning at Pine Tree when the game was postponed due to rain Friday night. The district’s baseball rules call for the game to resume at the point it was postponed. Play is scheduled to resume on Monday at 4 p.m. in Pine Tree. The Wildcats entered the game with a 5-1 district record. They are 12-8 for the season. The Wildcats are also scheduled to play Marshall at home Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Lady Cats Softball Game at Pine Tree is Washed Away

The Lady Cats’ softball team’s district game at Pine Tree Friday night was postponed due to rain. According to the district’s softball rules, the game must start over from the beginning. The Friday night action is washed away like it never happened. The game is now scheduled to be played Monday at 5 p.m. When the game was stopped, the Lady Cats led 4-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Pine Tree scored a run in the bottom of the first and then the Lady Cats scored twice in the top of the second and third innings. Again all that was washed away. The Lady Cats came into the game with a 7-1district record and a 20-5 season record. The Lady Cats will also play Marshall Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Lady Cat Park.

North Hopkins and Sulphur Bluff Baseball Game Resumes Monday

The North Hopkins’ baseball team led the Sulphur Bluff Bears, 8-0 in the top of the fourth inning Friday night when the game was postponed due to rain. The game will be resumed at the point where it was called. The teams will get together against Monday at 4 p.m. in Sulphur Bluff to finish the game.
