Hopkins County Junior Market Show : Final Results and Sales

Results of Saturday afternoon’s sale stands at $402,000+ with project add-on money still coming in thru Monday. This is another record year for the Junior Market Livestock Show. There were 142 FFA/4-H kid’s projects sold Saturday afternoon. Our county loves their kids.

For Poultry: Showmanship

  • Senior Showmanship: Micah Flemens, Sulphur Springs FFA
  • Intermediate Showmanship: Braxton Northcutt, Miller Grove FFA
  • Junior Showmanship: Miley McCormack, Hopkins County 4-H

For Heifers:

  • Grand Champion: Mika Gray,Miller Grove FFA;
  • Reserve Champion Jalyn Hrabal, North Hopkins FFA

Heifer Showmanship:

  • Senior Showmanship: Savannah Allen, Hopkins County 4-H
  • Intermediate Showmanship: Destiny Lackey, Hopkins County 4-H
  • Junior Showmanship: Claire Jalufka, Como-Pickton FFA

Twenty-five (25) steers were shown during the Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show at the Hopkins County Civic Center Arena.

Grand Champion Steer was shown by Mandi Skaggs, Hopkins County 4-H. River Thomas, Hopkins County 4-H showed the Reserve Grand Champion. Awards in Showmanship went to:

  • Senior Showmanship: Brandy Walker, Cumby FFA
  • Intermediate Showmanship: Destiny Lackey, Hopkins County 4-H
  • Junior Showmanship: Kindal Shackelford, North Hopkins FFA.

The Swine Show Friday afternoon included 98 hogs. Thirty-five (35) made the Saturday Sale of Champions.

Hadlee Hrabal of North Hopkins FFA showed the Grand Champion and Cade Kerby of North Hopkins FFA showed the Reserve Champion.

Awards in Showmanship went to:

  • Senior Showmanship: Haley Dryer, Miller Grove FFA
  • Intermediate Showmanship: Sailan Adair, Hopkins County 4-H
  • Junior Showmanship: Hadlee Hrabal, North Hopkins FFA

Seventy (70) Goat Projects were entered in the Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show at the Regional Civic Center Arenas Thursday. Dayton Wood of Cumby FFA won Grand Champion and. Jaci Wood of Cumby FFA won Reserve Champion.

According to Brad Johnson with NETLA, 35 made the Sale.

  • Senior Showmanship: Dayton Wood, Cumby FFA
  • Intermediate Showmanship: Lilly Campbell, Cumby FFA
  • Junior Showmanship: Katie McClure, Miller Grove FFA

43 Lamb projects were shown by Hopkins County 4-H youth and FFA students. Twenty-two (22) of the projects made the Sale of Champions to be conducted Saturday at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Arena.

Grand Champion Lamb was shown by Annie Horton, Hopkins County 4-H.  Ragan Reese, Hopkins County 4-H, showed the Reserve Grand Champion.

Lamb Showmanship awards were presented to Wyatt Wharton, North Hopkins FFA, Reese Ragan, Hopkins County 4-H, and Tobin Potter, Sulphur springs FFA.
