Portfolio Resident Services Provides Easter Baskets for Subsidized Families Across North East Texas

Sulphur Springs, Texas (February 27, 2018) — In Spring of 2016 and 2017, Heartland Village Apartments partnered with Discovery Toys Independent Consultant Juli Woolley to provide Easter baskets for children living in their housing facilities. Businesses and individuals made cash and in kind donations to offset the cost of the Easter baskets, valued at over $35 apiece.

In 2016, 85 children received the baskets containing an assortment of Easter coloring books, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and a variety of educational Discovery Toys books, games, and building toys that promote learning and development. 135 baskets were donated across Northeast Texas in 2017. Our local HayStack Youth Choir helped create and fill each basket and delivered to the children of Heartland Village. Each family was so grateful, and the joy on the children’s faces made this an incredible project.

In 2017, donations totaling $4500 were collected from local business men and women, and customers of Discovery Toys to make this project a success. We are asking local businesses to contribute again this year as we have again partnered with Corporate Portfolio Resident Services to collect funds for many children across Northeast Texas that reside in their subsidized housing facilities.

In 2018, we are attempting to reach a goal of 200 baskets for this region! Eggs, grass, and candy will be needed as well. A $100 donation pays for three baskets. To contribute, contact Juli Woolley at [email protected] or 512-755-4925.
