Graveside services for Barbria Alice Teague Looney, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at South Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Barbria passed away Friday, January, 8, 2016 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.
She was born on March 7, 1936 in Ft. Worth, TX, the daughter of Edward Dewey Teague and Sadie Mae Burrows Teague. Barbria married James Donald Looney, Sr. on June 5, 1954 in Mission, TX. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2005. Barbria was a BeautiControl Consultant for 25 years and was also an owner/operator along with her husband, of Looney’s County Store in the Shirley Community. Barbria was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs and previously was Secretary-Treasurer at Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Denise Fulcher and husband Gordon of Sulphur Springs, son, Edward Byers Looney of Tucson, AZ, grandson, Evan Joseph Fulcher of Sulphur Springs.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, son, James Donald Looney, Jr., brothers, A. D. Teague, Leon Teague and Dean Rex Teague.
