SSISD Summer Maintenance Work

Sulphur Springs Independent School District has many maintenance jobs underway in preparation for the next school year. One of the most exciting for high school students is the changes being made the student parking lot. The parking lot is being repaved and repainted, due to the stripes 50-100 new spots will be added. The re-pavement will extend to the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, Ag Extension Building, and the Southwest Dairy Museum.   Caitlin Kimberlin is a rocking welding student at the Sulphur Springs PJC Campus. Caitlin is a 19 year old girl from Lone Oak, Texas who grew up dirt track racing and welding on her dirt track car. Racing and welding on the cars fueled her passion for fabrication, she is in her third semester of the program and will be graduating in August 2016. On Saturday, June 18th, 2016, the annual Juneteenth Celebration was held at Pacific Park. To kick-off the celebration, a parade was held at 10:30 am and was follow by a day of fun games and food. Marking their 25th year celebrating Independence Day, the Sulphur Springs Symphony League will host the Annual Independence Day Celebration Concert and Fireworks display on Saturday, July 2 at 7:45 p.m. on Celebration Square.
