Lady Cat Softball Starting
Weather permitting, the Lady Cats’ softball team will have their first scrimmage Monday beginning at 5:30 p.m. against White Oak at Lady Cat Park. Summer Wyatt is expected to handle most of the pitching load, especially with Kasey Moore still in basketball.
Lady Cats Start Slow, Never Recover
The Lady Cats’ basketball team got off to a slow start against Texas High Tuesday night at home and was never able to recover. The Lady Cats were down 17-4 after the first quarter and the Lady Tigers ended up with a 54-34 win. Daieyshia Pruitt led the Lady Cats with 17 points. The Lady Cats are now 4-6 in district play and 13-12 overall. The Lady Cats travel to Mt. Pleasant Friday night.
Lady Cats Rally and Beat Marshall
Lady Cats Basketball Coach Jeff Chapman’s halftime advice to his team seemed to work as the Lady Cats rallied from 8 points down to take a 38-28 win over Marshall Friday. The Lady Cats’ basketball team had a tough night on the road Tuesday night at Longview as the Lady Lobos won 64-35. Daieyshia Pruitt led the Lady Cats with 15 points, including two-three pointers. The Lady Cats’ basketball team was as cold as the weather when it came to shooting in a 54-30 loss at Hallsville Tuesday night. The Lady Cats shot only 23% from the field including 1 of 11 from three-point range. Hallsville jumped out to an 18-3 first quarter lead and never looked back. Lady Cats Showing Potential
The Lady Cats’ basketball team scored 61 points to defeat Greenville Friday night, 61-55. At the first of the season, did anyone think the Lady Cats could score 61 without Desi Debase, who is out for the season after knee surgery Friday? The Lady Cats’ basketball team pulled away from Greenville in the fourth quarter to take a 61-55 win at Greenville Friday night. The Lady Cats led by only one point heading into the final quarter. Lady Cats Face Greenville Friday
Lady Cats Basketball Coach Jeff Chapman chose to stress the positive after his team’s 46-39 district win at home over Mt. Pleasant Tuesday night. The win evened the Lady Cats district record at 2-2 and improved their season mark to 11-8. Coach Chapman liked the combination of a team getting better and also winning. The Lady Cats will seek another big district road win Friday as they travel to Greenville to face the Lady Lions.

Lady Cats Basketball Coach Jeff Chapman said last Friday’s district game at Texas High wasn’t too pretty for the Lady Cats. After a close first quarter, the Lady Tigers pulled away for a 67-50 win. Coach Chapman felt his young team was a little intimidated in a tough environment. He said team members are working hard to get better.
