Two mom and son teams won Super Stew titles at Saturday’s Stew Contest. When Patsy McAfee found herself without teammates she turned to son John Mark McAfee and they teamed to win Super Stew Chicken. There is a good possibility that this year’s Stew Contest on October 25 will be a record setter for number of stew pots. There are about 144 currently. According to KSST accounts, that matches the previous high set in 2012. Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce President Meredith Caddell is reminding all stew cooks from last year that this is the final week to renew their sites.
