The Sulphur Springs School Board accepted the retirement of Director of Transportation Larry Finney Monday night. His last day is July 31. In almost 30 years with the district, Finney also served as a bus driver, a principal and a teacher. SSISD School Board Agrees To School Lunch Price Increase
The Sulphur Springs School Board agreed to raise school lunch prices 25-cents at a Monday night meeting. The cost will go from $2.00 to $2.25. SSISD Held Second Budget Work Session Monday Night
The Sulphur Springs School Board had their second budget work session Monday night (July 21). Superintendent Mike Lamb said work on the budget had been going on for weeks. He added it was going well at this point. The latest draft budget uses preliminary taxable property values and is based on 97% tax collections. Lady Cats Volleyball Camp Scheduled
Sulphur Springs ISD Sports is offering volleyball camps for three different age groups. New Lady Cats Volleyball Coach Allison Irvin will have camp Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon for girls entering grades four through seven and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. for girls entering 8th or 9th grades. Wildcats Football Coach Greg Owens and his staff will be having two football camps this week. Wildcat Football Camp for boys entering 3rd through the 8th grades is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Cost is $45. The future Congressman for the 4th Congressional District that includes Hopkins County Republican John Ratcliffe will be in Sulphur Springs Tuesday to meet some of his future constituents.
