After a solid first half that saw the Wildcats’ football team jump out to a 23-7 led over Texas High, the Tigers roared back in the second half to take a 42-29 victory at Gerald Prim Stadium Friday night in the district opener for both teams. Team Tennis Wins Third Straight District Match

The Wildcats’ team tennis squad captured an important road match Tuesday as they defeated Mt. Pleasant, 16-3. The win was the third straight district win for the Wildcats who are now 3-3 in district play. The Wildcats will host Greenville in the final district match of the year next Tuesday. For several years now First Baptist Church missionary Roy Smith and missionary translator Christina Matkina have visited KSST’s Good Morning Show with Enola Gay. They were back Tuesday. Smith was one of the first missionaries to Russia in 1990. In 1995 Ms. Matkina was led to Christ and now works to spread the gospel to villages in and around her hometown of Shadrinsk. Meeting Monday, the Hopkins County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to adopt the national motto In God We Trust as their own. A plaque in the Commissioners Courtroom now indicates it.
