Central Baptist Church’s 70th anniversary will be celebrated Sunday, June 30, with special guests, food and fellowship. A combined service for all ages will begin at 10:30 a.m. No formal Sunday school will be held June 30, but all are welcome arrive early for fellowship at 9:30; breakfast will be provided. Bro. Joyce Dodd reports that the next Bible study at the Tira Methodist Church will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. Everyone is welcome. The Tira Food Pantry has been getting quite a bit of use. As always, I appreciate the council members who do a great job of keeping it stocked and all the people who donate food for the cause. This tree in the Tira area was damaged by last week’s storm. The storm that came through overnight last Wednesday caused a lot of tree damage in the area. We are thankful that there were no reports of injury. The...

This year 91 fans were collected and distributed to senior citizens throughout the community.

Kelly Fletcher, David’s niece, shared about his life and the memorial, which was held on May 11, 2019. David was the son of the late (David) Boyd and Catherine (Patterson) Lee, of Tira. Kelly commented that David was a great singer and guitarist and “a very fine house painter.” Kelly shares his love for music and played a trumpet solo at his memorial.
