Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office’s Reintegration Luncheon scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled at this time. HCSO staff report it will be rescheduled at a later time. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Child Passenger Safety Seat Check slated from 10 a.m. to noon on March 20 at 421 East Industrial Drive in Sulphur Springs has been cancelled due to concerns about the Covid-19 virus. CHANGE OF PLANS: The Hopkins County Genealogical Society library is closed this week – March 16 through 21, as a precautionary measure. Our monthly meeting scheduled for Thursday evening March 19th is also postponed. We value the health of our volunteers and patrons, so we felt the need to take this action. Dinner Bell at The First United Methodist Church will not serve meals the next two weeks, March 18, 2020 and March 25, 2020. Large groups are being discouraged from assembling due to the worldwide pandemic. Future meals and the serving of them will be discussed in the next week. DINNER BELL IS NOT SUSPENDING the serving of weekly meals. We value the health and welfare of both those who come to eat and those who prepare the meals.
