Sulphur Springs ISD Bands will perform a Christmas concert is Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Sulphur Springs High School Auditorium. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature “Sounds of the Season” performed by the SSISD Jazz, Middle School and High School Band programs. Admission is free to all. It happened again Saturday (December 7) in the Mansfield ISD Spring Creek Barbeque Classic Tournament as the Wildcats held on to defeat Killeen Ellison, the #6 ranked team in Class 6A, 55-53 at Mansfield Legacy. The #16 ranked Saltillo Lady Lions picked up a pair of wins Thursday (December 5) in the Craig Reed Invitational Tournament in Dodd City. The Lady Lions defeated North Lamar, 73-36 and Sam Rayburn 61-47. Against the North Lamar Pantherettes, the Lady Lions got 25 big points from Chandler Bain. Wildcats Basketball Team Wins First Two Games in Mansfield Tourney The Wildcats Basketball Team, ranked #5 in Class 5A, had a good Thursday (December 5) winning two games in the Mansfield ISD Spring Creek Barbeque Classic Tournament. The Wildcats outscored A&M Consolidated of College Station, 68-61 and then defeated Mansfield, 68-49. Both games were played at Mansfield High School.
