The Bright Star Writing Group held their first meeting on Monday, June 10th at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center. The group was small this month but they are hoping to draw the attention of more writers to the group. Top honors in the Hopkins County Ice Cream Contest were awarded to Kim Dillard for her butter pecan ice cream. Dillard received a trophy and $100 check for having the first place Super Scoop entry.
