Wildcats Place First at Commerce Powerlifting Meet
The Wildcats’ powerlifting team took first place at the Raise The Bar Invitational in Commerce Saturday. The Wildcats had twelve of thirteen lifters medal and they racked up 60 points. Second place Lone Oak had 34 points. The Wildcats also had the best pound for pound big lifter and smaller lifter. Funeral services for Thomas Odell Kincaid, age 81, have been scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Tapp Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Mr. Kincaid passed away at Parkland Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2018.
Have You Seen Fred? He’s Missing
A 4 year old Boston terrier, named Fred, is missing from its home on County Road 3631 in Dike. The owner is offering $100 reward for his return. The Boston Terrier is loved by an 11 year old, the son of the dog owner. Fred is very gentle. If found please call or text 903-348-0834. FCA Regional Games Include SSHS Players
A Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Meet the Players event in Tyler Monday presented players chosen to participate in featured games later this year. Local Man Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault
Javaron Tyray Ross, 21, was arrested at his Jackson Street address on an Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child warrant. A Sulphur Springs Police officer made the arrest and transported Ross to department offices where he was interviewed by Detectives Bo Fox and David Gilmore. Ross is in Hopkins County Jail held on a $75,000 bond.
Local Woman Arrested for Burglary
February 19, 2018 – A call to Sulphur Springs Police alerted them to a burglary of a residence on Bellview Street. Local police found Sherrie Lee Cooksey, 40, of Sulphur Springs, hiding in a bathroom at the residence. The complainant stated she observed Cooksey inside a vehicle at the residence when she arrived. She believed Cooksey was attempting to steal the vehicle. Since the complainant was not the owner of the residence,...
