Lady Cats Strong Start Overwhelms Lindale

The Lady Cats’ basketball team was strong from the start as they overwhelmed Lindale, 62-21 Friday evening (January 25) in a district game at the Main Gym at Sulphur Springs High School. The win broke a two game district losing streak as they Lady Cats improved to 4-3 in district play. The Lady Eagles are now 1-6.

Using a relentless press, the Lady Cats jumped out to a 22-7 first quarter lead. It was 34-12 at halftime and 53-14 after three quarters.

Sadavia Porter had a 12 point first quarter and ended up with 19 points.

Autumn Tanton added 13 points including 7 of 10 free throws.

Danielle Godbolt had 12 points.

Junior post Latavia Smith scored 7 points.

Kate Womack had 5 points.

Te’Arria Rose scored 4 points.

Nylah Lindley had 2 points. All ten Lady Cats available to play got into the game. Lindale’s Shaylan Davis led the Lady Eagles with 5 points.

The Lady Cats are now 22-6 for the season. They play at Greenville Tuesday.
