A second home burglary in two days in the city of Sulphur Springs was reported Tuesday. There appear to be some similarities. The second break-in occurred at a home in the south part of town. It was reported to police around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday. Entry was made by breaking a kitchen window. The house had clothes tossed and mattresses flipped. Some paperwork was disturbed and an envelope containing $2,500 was taken. Some items of value were not disturbed.
In a break-in reported Monday in the southwest part of Sulphur Springs, a thief broke a window to gain entry and took a safe containing $8,000 in cash as well as a pair of Rolex watches, a ring, a necklace and a bracelet. The total taken was worth an estimated $43,000. Sulphur Springs Police Detective Sgt. Bo Fox is investigating both cases.
