Zack Adams

Zack Adams age 91, of Talco, Texas, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Zack was born on March 14, 1934, in Franklin County, Texas, to John Thomas and Dee Ida (Horn) Adams.

He married Mary Elaine Weatherford on August 8, 1953. Not long after Zack and Lane married, Zack was drafted into the US Army and Lane joined him after he was stationed in Ft. Bragg, NC. Their only child, Norma Lynn, was born during this time.

Zack received his Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1959, and he, Lane and Lynn headed home to Mount Vernon, Texas.

Zack was employed at Newsome Meat Packing Company and TU Electric during his career life. He and Lane had a farm north of Mount Vernon where they raised cattle, grew a garden, built fences, baled hay and entertained the neighborhood kids with fishing and basketball.

As a small child, Zack accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Texas.

Zack was preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Mary Elaine Adams; his parents, Thomas and Dee Ida Adams; three brothers, T.J., Buster, and Robert Adams; three sisters, Norva Gay Suitor, Mary Jo Long, and Betty Jean Cason; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Grady Teague, Linda and Kennith Swinford, Martha and Frankie Newsome, and Rex Weatherford.

Zack is survived by his daughter, Norma Lynn and son-in-law Danny Ray Christenberry; grandson, Cody Christenberry and wife Kristin; granddaughter, Danielle Rae Galow and husband, Marty; six great-grandchildren, Nash James, Konnor ( Derek) Rice, Zoey Christenberry, Belle Christenberry, Darcey Galow and Kason Christenberry; sister, Mrytle Fern (Bobby) Kilcrease; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jean Teague, Betty and Glen Zachary, Lex Weatherford, Ricky and Judy Weatherford; Zack

was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 7,2025 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be Monday, December 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church at 2 pm with Pastor Pepper Puryear officiating. Burial to follow at Mount Vernon City Cemetery.
