Vic Tyrone Johnson, age 54, of Sulphur Springs TX, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026. He was born on October 9, 1971, in Sulphur Springs TX, to Cartritus C. Johnson Sr. and Freddie Moore Johnson, and biological father Ronald R. Gardner. Throughout his life, Vic, was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, dedication to family, love for all children, hardworking nature and care for his community, and he made a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Growing up in Sulphur Springs TX, Vic attended Sulphur Springs High School class of 90’/91’. During his younger years, he enjoyed soccer, baseball, and basketball. Friends and family remember him as someone who always went out of his way for everyone and would give his last. These qualities stayed with him throughout his life and defined the way he treated others.
As an adult, Vic built a life centered around his hard work and dedication, he worked in multiple positions and at multiple facilities. He worked as a laborer at JB Weld for 2 years. His coworkers often described him as hardworking, dependable, dedicated, passionate, and he took great pride in the work he did. Beyond his professional life, he was deeply committed to the people he loved and the community around him.
Family meant everything to Vic. He cherished the time he spent with his loved ones and was especially known for family traditions, gatherings, holidays, loving and spoiling all the kids’ sports, cooking, fixing things, storytelling. He always made sure those around him felt supported and cared for. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those closest to him.
In his free time, Vic, enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, traveling, music, and watching games, “FLY HIGH EAGLES”. These passions reflected his personality and the joy he found in life’s simple moments. Many will remember him for Mr. weekend Furlo.
Vic is survived by his parents, Dametra L. Johnson (Andre), Jr. Johnson (Kim), Vincent Johnson Sr. (LaToya), Woody Harris (Kortne0, Derick Dial (Tammie), Ruben Lacy Lane, Rona Taylor, LaTonya Dugan (Damon), Kathy Gardner-Drew, Kevin Gardner, Markeist Johnson, Catina Beachum. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Ozziephine Harrison Moore, Fred J. Moore, paternal grandmother: Mildred Gardner-Sims, and one brother Michael Fonville.
Those who knew Vic will remember him not only for what he accomplished, but for the love and kindness he shared. His memory will continue to live on through the stories, lessons, and moments he created with those who loved him most.
