A funeral service for Alton Green, age 83, of Weaver, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. B.J. Teer officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with Ryan Scott, Colby Scott, Jacob Neal, Richard Green, Aaron Eudy, and Dustyn Fernandez serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Green passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Carriage House Manor.
Alton Green was born February 24, 1939, in Quinlan, Texas, to Harvey Woodard Green and Ruby May (Green) Green. He married Dottie Faye Tabb on February 23, 1958, in Winnsboro. Alton served in the National Guard of Texas from 1956 to 1959. As soon as he was able to drive, Alton became a truck driver and continued that career throughout his whole life.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dottie Green; children, Pam Martin of Weaver, Ginger Scott (Jasper) of Mt. Vernon, Jerry Green (Amanda) of Sulphur Springs, Terry Green (Tiffany) of Sulphur Springs, and Carolyn Neal of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Sheena Canup, Cassie Canup, Ryan Scott (Bethany), Colby Scott (Ally), Kadie Green (Dustyn), Richard Green (Nicole), Jacob Neal, and Cortney Eudy (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Riley Scott and Caleb Scott; brother, James Green (Lucy); sisters, Mattie Davis, Pauline Thompson (Don); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Paula Ann Green; and brothers, Paul Auston Green and Nathan Woodard Green.
