Joseph Peter “Joe” Janson Jr

Joseph Peter “Joe” Janson Jr, of Grand Prairie, formerly of Sulphur Springs, passed away December 15, 2021, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. Joe was born March 13, 1969, in Englewood, CO, and graduated from Rangeview High School in Aurora, CO, in 1987. He survived a battle with cancer at age 14. Later in his life he lived in England. Joe excelled in management positions in retail for most of his career, including running OnCue in Sulphur Springs, TX. He never met a stranger. Joe always knew how to make you laugh, especially when you were down. Many people loved Joe, including his nurses, and admired his love of life. Besides entertaining, Joe enjoyed cooking, Sci-Fi, plants, nature, and his Schnauzer, Deven. Joseph Janson is survived by his life partner Blake Strahm, his father Joseph Janson, his step mother Mary, step father Rex Reiber, Grandmother Ellen Mayo, his sisters Rebecca Coleman and Jennifer Shoaff (John), brother Matthew Janson, half sisters Andrea Cannella (Jeff) and Kim Tolbert (Greg), step sister Brandi Kirby (Luke), step brother Rex Reiber Jr and fiance Katelin Gumpert, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Reiber. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held January 15, 2022, from 12pm to 3pm at the Jefferson Event Center, 2515 W Jefferson St, Grand Prairie, TX, 75051.
