Graveside service for Arlen Wells, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Laurel Oaks Cemetery with Jerry Savage officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Wells passed away on September 4, 2021 at his residence.
Arlen was born on August 25, 1931, to Coker Franklin and Lily Mae (Ailes) Wells. He married Cherry Lou Davidson on June 9, 1951, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Arlen retired from Red Ball Motor Freight and TXU Monticello Power Plant. He was a member of the League Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his sons, Ricky and wife, Susan, and Monty and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Monica Ames and husband, Jason, Mandi Rose and husband Marshall, Blake Wells and wife Adrian and Cody Wells; and great-grandchildren, Presley, Lawson, Fisher and Ellie.
Arlen was preceded in death by his wife, Cherry; parents; and four brothers and sisters.
