Memorial service for Lester Lee Boyd, age 66, of Como, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Don Stephen’s officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be David Morgan, Justin Darrow, Jeremy Darrow, Bubba Kimmel, Lynn Prater, Jared Prater, and Jonathan Simpson. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Lester passed away on July 31, 2021, at his residence. He was born on June 8, 1955, in Grundy, Virginia, the son of Ellis Boyd and Goldie McClanahan Mitchell. He married Sandy Weaver on March 21, 1981, in Hopkins County.
He worked as a professional truck driver for Truline for many years and loved to hunt, fish, and play guitar in his spare time.
Lester is survived by wife, Sandy Boyd; mother, Goldie Mitchell;daughters, Tabbitha Anderson (Chris) and April Perez (Violet); grandchildren, Paige Anderson, Parker Anderson, River Anderson, Avery Perez, Mercy “Reynolds” Nugent; brothers, Jacky Boyd, Beau Boyd and Jeff Boyd; and sisters, Gay Dixon, and Nancy Sprangler.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
